Privacy Policy
This policy describes how The Proscenium, an initiative of The Neo Art Magazine, handles information in its iPhone app and on theproscenium.art. It applies to The Proscenium, rather than to The Neo Art Magazine’s other products.
What we collect
- Submissions: names, professional email addresses, telephone numbers when provided, and details you enter about a venue, artist or event, including descriptions, websites, social links and evidence of representation.
- Images: photos you choose to submit for a listing, claim or event. Selecting a photo does not upload your entire photo library.
- Submission identifier: the app uses Firebase Authentication to create an anonymous user identifier and associates it with a submission. You do not need to create a named account to browse.
- Subscriptions: if you buy Proscenium Plus, Apple handles purchase and billing. We use subscription status to provide access; we do not receive your full payment card number.
Why we use it
We use submitted information to review claims, verify authority to represent a venue or artist, assess proposed listings and event details, contact you about a submission, manage the directory and prevent misuse. We may display approved listing details and approved photographs publicly. Contact and verification details submitted for review are not intended for publication unless they are part of the listing information you ask us to display.
Where information is processed
Submissions are stored using Google Firebase, including Firebase Authentication and Cloud Firestore. Firebase may process information on infrastructure outside your country. Apple handles in-app subscriptions under its own privacy practices. Opening external websites, map directions or third-party links takes you to services with their own policies.
Sharing and retention
We share information with service providers needed to run the app, and with people reviewing submissions on our behalf. We may disclose information where required by law. We do not use submitted names, email addresses, telephone numbers or photos for cross-app advertising tracking. We keep submission records while needed to review, maintain or document listings and to address disputes or legal obligations, then delete or anonymise them where reasonably possible.
Your choices
You may choose not to submit information and still browse the directory. You can ask us to correct a listing or request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information connected to a submission. To make a request, use the contact details on our Support page and include enough information to identify the submission. We may need to verify your request first.
Children and updates
The app is not directed to children under 13. We may update this policy as the app changes. The date above shows when it was last updated.
